San Fransisco

Hii guys!! Here i am again, with some foto's as promised. So i went to San Fransisco today with Leslie, we went to get me a clipper card ( something for public transportation ) at the Ferry building. Then we went to see Leslie's sister and after that we went to th.s small museum about San Fransisco's history. Which told us about the earthquake in 1906, which was one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the us. And i got a few photo's at that museum.

So here you'll see the fire that burned SF down after the earthquake, and on the photo you'll see the damage of the earthquake.

So after that we went to Chinatown to eat dim sum, it was really good. And we went to go look at this fortune cookie factory, where they made fortune cookies in a side street of chinatown, i think it was as big as a living room. So i took some fortune cookies home, they are really delicious :D

After that we went to a few beautiful build buildings, i don't have any pictures of those buildings though.

So we finally came home with the calltrain around 4:20 PM and i had a great time in SF :P, So i promesed to take some pictures. I hope you like them :) because i spend half a day figuring out how to put them on my new computer, hahaha!!

Rock and Roll with some trouble

Hii guys, so.. you haven't heard from me for a while now. Well that's because my computer broke down, that's why there is 'some trouble' in the title, but don't worry I got a new computer yesterday and install everything today.

A lot happened since the last blog. It was St. Patrick's day. Although I didn't really celebrate it I did notice it on the street, like a poodle who was painted all green yeah you don't see that every day. On St. Patrick's day I went too the Sunday afternoon church with Bob and Leslie, it was a really nice experience, and we stayed there too have dinner because Leslie cooked Nicaragua food. Because she and a few other people went to Nicaragua for a volunteer project. The food was wonderful and I met some fun people at the church. After dinner there was a Rock and Roll concert, so the choir sung Rock and Roll songs which was really good, and some times really funny. But they did the concert because the senior High School students need money to go on a trip to the UK they will preform a musical there in churches. The concert was really fun to watch and I had a fun time there :D

Monday was the day of my placement test, which were math and ESL ( English as a second language) and it was really weird because I was the only white girl or even the only white person that was taking the placement test that day. But that's fine, I just felt left out a bit because they were speaking Chinese and I couldn't understand a thing :P The results were good for the tests from the English test the result came Level 6 which is the highest level in ESL and for math 93 points for math elementary and I have no idea what that means XD but I'm not thinking of taking any math classes, so i'm fine with it.  

Tuesday I went to shop for my laptop so there isn't anything special about that day, but today ( Wednesday)  I had my first day of orientation some parts were a bit boring but I met a lot of fun people and I learned some stuff, and I registered for the classes that I want to take. The first one is acting, second one ESL class third counseling ( you have to take this if your a new student) fourth one singing and fith one is anthropology. So I'm really excited!!

Tomorrow I've got another day of orientation and on Friday I'll probably go to San Francisco but we will see

Sadly I don't have any photo's today, but I'll make sure to put some extra on the next blog!

27 hours awake with some gold

Hii guys!!

So i arrived yesterday at 13:20 in San Francisco, after a exhausting 10 hour journey. and i needed to get through the douane. I had some troube there, not because my data was wrong but because i needed too fill in another form that i didn't know about. So i went searching for the form while making a complete fool out of myself but i couldn't find it, after i guess 25 minutes i got the form from a worker there and had filled it in. 5 minutes later i noticed that the forms where just right next too me and i had made a fuss out of nothing. Verry clever of course :P So eventualy i came out of the airport half an hour or even an hour later than planned :)

Now  it was around 15:30 when i arrived at my host family, They are really nice people!!! I got put to work immediatly, but i didn't mind at all. We went too help at a breakfast program at their church, it's for all the homeless and the one's that don't have that much money. I really liked to do it, and it helped me to stay awake :) after that i went to walk the dogs Autumn and Sierra.

So we ate and now it was about 19:30 and Carina, the german international student who lives here too, asked me if i wanted to come to a party with all her german friends, although i was pretty tired i said yes, we went to her friends house and i was trying to stay awake using coke and pop corn as aid. i think when we went there i was probably awake for 24 hours already, because i didn't sleep at all in the plain. It was really a lot of fun although i was almost falling asleep while standing. Carina and i went home when it was about 22:00 and i went to sleep right away :)


Next day

The next day i woke up pretty early, and that is 2:30 AM and no that was not because i couldn't sleep but because my mom texted me about how it was here and if i could sleep hahaha, mom i love you but if you read this could you please think about the time difference ;P So after going too sleep again i woke up around  8 AM, and went too clean my room. after eating breakfast Carina and i went too tour around Foothill College and she showed me the buildings there, i also brought a prepaid phone and some sunscreen in the shopping area.  We went home and we had plans to go to the golden gate bridge and too pick up a car, because Ryan ( the son of Leslie and Rob ) was going to buy that car from the someone they knew. After we visited her house and Ryan went off with his new car, the four of us went to eat at 'in and out' its a burger place with great burgers, it was really good. around twenty minutes after that we were taking pictures of the golden gate bridge,

So that was my day so far. And i hope  you liked it :)

I'll be going to America soon to follow a community college in California, i'm very excited.
I'm going there in march, these are the last 3 weeks in the Netherlands and then i'll get on a plane to America for 4 months. I hope you will follow my adventure with me.
